Brain Injuries

Traumatic brain injuries can be caused by a blow or a jolt to the head. A traumatic brain injury can range from a very mild, temporary dysfunction to permanent, severe debilitation, or death. In many whiplash-type accidents, it is not necessary for the head to actually strike something in order to produce injuries. Think of the concept of “shaken baby syndrome.” Even adults can suffer from this effect as a ten-pound, bowling ball-sized head whips over the top of a brain stem. Closed-head injuries often can require a lifetime of care. We have represented individuals with brain trauma and closed-head injuries in cases involving

  • Automobile accidents
  • Tractor trailer accidents
  • Boating accidents
  • DUI accidents
  • Construction accidents
  • Workplace accidents
  • Slip & fall accidents

These types of cases require significant skill in pursuing and managing them. If the injury is relatively mild, even the detection of the closed-head injury can be difficult. Nevertheless, these types of head injuries can affect cognitive abilities, motor skills (such as walking), memory, speech and communications, personality, emotions, touch, smell, taste, vision, and hearing. Sometimes, such injuries can also produce such effects as coma and dementia. The effects of brain injuries and trauma can be as harmful to the victim’s family as they are to the victim themselves.

We can help you recover the compensation that you or a loved one deserve following a brain or closed-head injury.
