Although law enforcement agencies regularly prosecute intoxicated or drunk driving in the criminal system, that prosecution often does not include compensation for the victims' payments for medical bills, pain and suffering, disfigurement, future medical care and treatment, lost wages, and reduced earning capacity.
Oftentimes, drunk drivers do not have sufficient financial resources or insurance to pay the full damages for the accidents and destruction they have caused. However, under the law, bartenders, wait staff, and party hosts can be subject to dram shop laws and have a duty to limit the amount of alcohol given to patrons and guests. Reach out to Larson Law.
